Welcome to my website!  It is still under construction but I am working on getting it "pyrfect" as soon as possible.  All the links should work so you can read about my dogs.

The Start Of It All 

I have not owned this breed as long as some people, less than 10 years.  I purchased my first Great Pyr, Belle, for livestock guardian purposes.  It was love at first sight for the whole family!  Since then I have owned quite a few others either by "rescuing" them or fostering.  Most of the pyrs had such even temperaments that I would trust them with anyone.  I loved them all and found good homes for the ones I could not keep. 

I decided that I wanted to try my hand at showing a pyr.  Could not be that hard, could it?  Boy was I wrong!  I had to learn about structure and the Breed Standard and pedigrees.  Luckily I had Nino Caluducan from whom I purchased Ch Tycoon Spirit of Apayao.  There have been several other breeders as well that have helped me through the last several years of owning a "show" dog. 

I bred Dam at to a beautiful bitch that I loved very much, Sophie.  That was almost 3 years ago.  Since then I have finished titles on Dam at, Pepper, his son and Marilyn, his daughter has just finished her championship.  Pepper is both a finished Champion and Grand Champion and has now qualified for Eukanuba, 2011.  I take immense pride in my dogs.  They live as family members of our house and guardians of us all.

Since I take good breeding seriously, I am a member of both the Great Pyrenees Club of America and the New River Valley Kennel Club.  In trying to do justice to this wonderful breed, I also am now committed to the health testing guidelines of  the GPCA.  My dogs are listed on the  Orthopedic Foundation for Animals and the Canine Health Information Center   websites.  All three of the Great Pyrenees that I currently own are CHIC certified which means that they have had three of the recommended tests to "weed" out bad breeding stock.
